decrease soft drinks change to rye/wholemeal/grain breads instead of white bread make little changes like that in your diet increasing fibre fills your stomach decreasing hunger. snack on fruit which gives a natural sugar hit. drink more water and start doing some exercise even simple walking around the block

Make sure you understand about balanced diets, do a little research into the food groups, etc. The most important thing is to balance out the fats and sugars with whole grains and fiber and stuff. It's actually rather complicated, but once you learn it, it's easy to do it forever. Just remember that "grains" are whole grains. Eating white bread and white rice and sugary cereal is equivalent to eating cardboard nutritionally.

Replace red meat with tofu-- I did and I feel alot better. I also learned many new ways to cook tofu and now it is one of my favorite foods.
