If 12 to 20 million of us went illegally to Canada to leech of their health system, would it be stealing?

I know a handful do already, and I would always think that was stealing. So why do people who are clear that that would be stealing justifying illegals coming here and draining our education and other services?

Their health care would give us a better life...

Pancha, my understanding is that there are a few US illegals in Canada, not on a grand scale, and they work and put as much in there as immigrants do here. The reason they go illegally, however, is the free health care.

Although, now I know Canadians have cards to show if they are entitled to benefits, and I don't know if the practice has become less because of that. The principle is the same.

Actually, Canadians don't exactly jump up to welcome you onto their system of free health care. My Grandmother had a stroke up there and when we called the hospital they made it very clear that the block on the credit card would have to clear before she was admitted. Had we been totally unable to pay they might have had a procedure, but they do care.

Also, our schools and health care aren't free, undocumented. We pay for them.

sqwirlsgirl - I too get mad when my neighbor's dog craps on my lawn. Also, ten years ago there were not 12 to 20 million here. Cumulative numbers DO matter.

lol .. stealing is stealing, whether we do it there, or other people do it here to us ... not to mention the Canadians would **** bricks if they saw 20 million Americans settling in, waving American flags and clogging up their free healthcare .... :)

Just hope you didn't need immediate health care. Canada's health care system would collapse and the treasury would be bankrupted under the weight of 12-20 million illegals.

The US should be thanking Canada for all the splendidly trained physicians they supply. Of course you can't blame them for taking the money.

It's strange that they allow all kinds of people to enter from US to Canada (as you mentioned illegal immigrants but for all different reasons like to escape from the law, etc) but they refuse tourists visa and take their money too.
But yes, to answer your question, that would be stealing but if you really can't afford it in USA and it's a serious problem, I'd look the other way. But not for everything. That's not right.

The irony is that Canadians would probably welcome you if you needed health care...their belief is that health care is a right, not a privilege.

Do you recall all those Americans getting "cheap" drugs from Canada over the internet? Guess who subsidizes that (indirectly)? Yes - the Canadian taxpayer. Did you hear any of them complaining about it? Nope.

Actually, it'd be more like 1.2 or 2 million. Canada's population is a tenth of the US. I know you probably don't care, but hey, I get points no matter what I say here.

When and if......I ever have to enter Canada to leech/steal medical services I will answer this question.

In the meantime...........I don't JUSTIFY anyone draining our resources...............I just find it ironic that Y'ALL are up in arms NOW.......were they not doing this 10 years ago........OR WAIT.....was it not IMPORTANT THEN........BECAUSE.........it didn't affect YOU directly.......and NOW it does.

I can be mad because my neighbor lets her dog crap on my lawn.....BUT..........if I let that neighbors dog do it for 10 years.......is ANYONE going to listen to me NOW........probably not!
