Good for you! You understand that Jesus is another prophet of God. God is the Almighty, the all-powerful, so he is able to forgive sins without someone being killed. God created Adam without any parents, and God created Jesus without a father. Makes sense. I was formerly a Christian, so I know what I am talking about. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't understand, because ultimately you, through intelligence, have come upon the truth.

I guess the best way to answer your question is kind a like this. I don't need Jesus to be the Son of God, it for me is a fact of faith that he is. But why is a different story.
First off God gave Moses His Law, the 10 Commandments. Man wanted to know what he needed to do to be holy in the eyes of God, so God gave us His Law. Knowing that we would not follow them, He knew our hearts.
So let me ask some questions, have you ever stole anything ? Cost doesn't matter. Have you ever told a lie? Jesus saith that if a man looks on a women with lust, he has already committe adultry in his heart. Jesus also said that if you hate your brother that you are guilty of murder. Hmmm. I can tell you based on that I am a lying, theiving, adultriess, murdered in the eyes of God. Guilty as charged. I just pegged 4 of them without even trying.
No matter how good I think I am, there is nothing that I can do that will ever make up for the crimes I have committed against God. Something or someone had to pay the price. I can't, because I am the law breaker, so what Jesus did is offer himself as payment for my crimes, and made me acceptable before God. It was not by anything that I did but the gift of grace that was given me for my faith. The sacriface was because there was noone else that could pay that price.
See once I profess faith in Jesus then I must learn what Jesus taught, what he did, how he lived and model my life in that manner. (I fall way short, but I don't stop trying) Learning what he did, putting others before himself, Serving others, healing the sick, having compassion. He said that it was greater to give than to recieve, to love your eneemies, and to treat others in the manner you would want other to treat you. These things go totally against what life teaches us and it is not always easy to do. Still if it is the belief I claim then by faith it is the life that I am suppose to live.
The real question is if we who truly call ourselves Christians actually live this how mercifull would we really be?

We don't need him to be the son of God, he just is according to the Bible which we hold as our guide in all things.
Give you one good reason to believe he died for our sins? Because we believe God said so. Sure he could have died in the line of duty, but he died on a cross, crucified in the most horrible way. It was prophesied in the old testament, (written some 700 years before the New. T) came to pass in the new testament.
How merciful can he be? If you thought he was merciful, would you then believe?
What if God was the most horrible, vengeful, hateful God ever? What God is has no bearing on whether he exists or not. If you find he is not merciful, I'm sorry, but it doesn't make him any less real, so may be hope for a little bit merciful.

From the begining of time, God has required sacrifice, and Jesus was the final one. Hence "the lamb of God". There is one big difference between Christ and the other prophets. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. IF you believe in Abraham, and Moses, then you obviously believe in the Bible. Also, you should try doing a little reading before you make assumptions.
God Blesss You.

First of all, I don't need him to be, He just is and I have choosen to accept the way God has made it, and he wont change it for you or for me, thats the way its going to be for ever and ever from now on !
God always required a blood sacrifice from people. So if you were born in The old testament times, then if you wanted God to forgive you, then you would have to bring an animal to offer God,(I think God did it this way because he was the one to give you the animal in the first place, so he just wanted to know that you appreciated it ),and you would do this through a priest or man of God and he would then bring it to God on your behalf, thats just the way it always was. So then Jesus was the ultimate blood sacrifice for all of our sins and so we just need to go to him and he will bring our petition of sins,( or list of sins, whichever you prefer),and ask his forgiveness and God will forgive us for all of our wrong doings, and we can enter into heaven or Gods Kingdom because of this great accomplishment by Jesus!when he died on the cross. He is now our High priest !

The ONLY way for the sins of the ENTIRE world to be forgiven would be that a perfect Lamb that was perfect enough to satisfy God's requirement for death because of sin.
Jesus Christ was and IS the perfect Lamb of God.
God demands a blood sacrifice for sin. (The Old Testament) Sin demands a sacrifice and blood. That's just the way it is. Even in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned, God Himself killed an animal and covered them with the skins of the animal.
Jesus, God in the flesh, came to the earth to pay the price for ALL humanity once and for all.

That's a good question. It's because God requires sacrifice for committed sin. I don't know why, but He does. That is very plain all through the old testament.
So.....He manifested Himself in human form (Jesus Christ), lived a perfectly sinless life, and became the perfect sacrifice for humanity Himself.
How merciful do you think He is now?

God didn't HAVE to do anything. God chose to do it, because he loved us. Just as someone who breaks the law has to be brought to justice...if someone is actually guilty, they have to pay. Jesus understood that, but he loved all of us too and wanted to pay the price for us. It was done strictly out of love. Nothing more.
There are some things that we may never understand. Compare it to Heaven and Hell-the punishment for an evil person who will not accept Jesus is Hell. The punishment for a murderer or thief is death or jail. Maybe, just maybe, every sin MUST be punished- because of a sort of cosmic, Godly law. Luckily Jesus was the son of God, so he could handle a punishment of that magnitude.
We should all be extremely grateful that he did it, instead of wondering why.

since the 1st sin commited by Adam and Eve, God has always required sacrifce to cover our sin and shame. If u study the Bible u'll find dat God gave Adam and Even skins to cover thier nakedness. the skin could only hav com from a slain animal.
sacrifice release spiritual power, even sacrifice not invovlin blood. but for our sin God requires blood to b spilt, the Bible tells us that there is life in blood. the Bible also tells us that blood speaks. when cain killd abel, God said to cain, the blood of your brother cries out to me. God is a spirit and Christ tells us dat wen we pray to God the Father we must pray in SPIRIT and in truth. the spirit is life which is in the blood which speaks, so the only way God could recievd our apology was by the people repentin and the slain blood apologisin on thier behalf, as it was slain for dat purpose. but the blood dat was spilt was under the curse after Adam ate the forbidden fruit, evrythin that was his (which means the earth and all in it) was handed over to he Devil. which means God needed perfect blood. this wont come any creature on earth, so God had b the father of a human. it has been scientifically proven our blood comes from our father. so if Jesus' blood was from God it will b perfect, no perfect person has to die the bible says "the consequence for sin is death' so if Christ is to die which he chose to, he'd have to die for som1. now all hu claim a portion of his perfect blood can b saved. i hope i'v answerd ur question. God bless

Even the god of abraham and moses required sacrifices for sins. the wages of sin is death.
So only the son of god could make a sacrifice worthy to pay back all the sins of humanity. that he why he is called "the lamb of god"
and the fact that God gave his son, in my opinion, shows just how merciful he is!
