A Dent in the Pile!
An Italian, an Irishman and a Chinese fellow are hired at a construction site.
The foreman points to a huge pile of sand and says to the Italian guy, "You're in charge of sweeping."
To the Irishman he says "You're in charge of shovelling."
To the Chinese guy, "You're in charge of supplies."
He then says "Now, I have to leave for a little while. I expect you guys to make a dent in that there pile."
So the foreman goes away for a couple hours, but when he returns the pile of sand is untouched.
He says to the Italian: "Why didn't you sweep any of it!?"
The Italian replies in a heavy accent, "I no gotta broom, an' you tella me dat de Chinese'a guy supposa bringa da supplies, but he disappear and I no finda him."
Then the foreman turns to the Irishman and asks why he didn't shovel. The Irishman replies in his heavy brogue, "Aye, ye did lad, but I counna get meself a shovel. Ye left the Chinese guy in charge of supplies, but I counna fin' him."

The foreman is really angry now, and storms off toward the pile of sand looking for the Chinese guy.
Just then, the Chinese guy springs out from behind the pile of sand and yells...
!!"Supplies"!!

Its supposed to be a joke about how Chinese people don't speak English. The Chinese man is in charge of supplies, but he thinks that the man said 'surprise' because its a stereotype of the Chinese accent to pronounce l's as r's.

For some Asians with thick accents, it is hard for them to make an l sound, instead it comes out as a w. So when some Asians say clock, it sounds like cwock. And when they say supplies, it sounds like suppwies which sounds like surprise. The Chinese guy was trying to "surprise" him.

If you're serious, "Supplies!!" is the way the Chinese guy says "Surprise!" He obviously didn't understand enough English to do the job. :) LOL very funny joke.

Chinese people have difficulty with "R" and "L" , and often times switch them back and forth, making an r sound for the l, and vice-versa... He thought he was supposed to surprise them instead of furnishing supplies...

What kind of surprise was that? a Chinese don't follow direction and also this means that most people relay on somebody else then, themselves.

Chinese always interchange L and R. Example "you don't know how your wife robs (loves) you bely (very) much." He thought supplies meant surprise. So he said Supplies! instead of surprise. harhar

It is a slam on the chinese accent. He is trying to say "Surprise!"
His boss left him in charge of surprise.
