That is not a bad question. When I was deployed in Desert Storm we were issued depleted uranium ammo for the .50 cal. It came with warnings about prolonged exposure. I'm not sick, nor is anyone I know. Tankers were typically exposed to more than I would have been. Ask some of them.

Depleted = no longer radioactive. Insect bites are more likely to sicken the troops.

If you call Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld depleted uranium, then yeah it is sickening the troops.

It wasn't designed with health in mind; it was developed to pierce armor. It's really, really good at destryoing tanks, but the residue is a problem.
