the shot can cause those things... I know I have been on it several times between having kids..... the bleeding will go away sometime after the shot wears off .. usually 14 or so weeks or before...the shot works by thickening the lining of your uterus.... but I would see a doctor about the feelings you are having... they can treat that until the shot wears off... once you have the shot there isn't a anti-depo shot to counteract it. Good luck... trust me it will get better. I got homicidal instead of suicidal on the shot once. That was crazy... I was going out of my mind.

It is normal to bleed if you just had a baby, and as far as depo that is normal as well some times you can bleed for like 2 weeks and then it will stop ans start all over again. your dr is going to say the same thing. Another thing you will probably experience is weight gain that shot can give you wait gain and cause your blood to be low, they will probably give you some iron pills and send you home you are fine. But maybe you should look into getting a IUD instead I had my son 6 months ago and I am fine for that and It last 10 yrs and can be removed when ever you are ready to conceive again. Talk to your dr
Good Luck

No but depending on the heaviness of the flow it will cause exhaustion and weakness. The depression and anxiety can come from the depo shot. You should not still be bleeding after 3 months. Some spotting maybe but if you feel weak and tired you need to tell your doctor, you may have something else going on.

I had a very similar experience when I was first on Depo. I convinced the doctor to let me try it when I was first married, despite her warning that it was recommended only for women who'd had a child already. (I have terrible memory, and worried that I would not remember to take a daily pill.) I found that the side effects outweighed the benefits of this birth control method! I bled constantly, from the second day of my honeymoon through the sixth month (or so) after I had the initial shot.
I had a better experience with Depo after having my first child, but after my second I switched to an IUD. I've had a very positive experience with it. Except for monthly self-checks and annual doctor visits, it is completely worry-free!
Good luck!

I took the depo shot twice after the birth of my oldest son. The first one didn't change my cycle one bit. The second shot resulted in the side effects you are discussing. I ended up on birth control pills to regulate my cycle - so much for the inexpensive option of 1 shot. I spent double the amount on sanitary supplies and still ended up buying birth control pills for 4 months until my cycle returned to normal. Don't fool around with your health. Get in to your doctor and tell him/her about ALL of your complaints, no matter how trivial you may think they are!

definately tell your doctor it is important that htey know
i have had the shot once and i know it definately did not agree with me... whilst i did nt bleed like this i was depressed...
unfortunaltey you have to wait but maybe only another few months before the side effects wear off
he may be able to put you on a contraceptive pill as well which hsouls settle your moods.
i was put on brenda and am still on it now... and i can say i am back to my normal self
it is very importnat the doctor knows as there might be something they can do to get you through this stage
that side effect is very common and he wont be surprised by it

A lot of women on deproprovera have that problem. I would suggest you stop taking that birth control. Just start using another form of contraception. My friend using birth control pills to prevent her from having her period. I don't really know what it is but I can ask her and get back to you on that.
Bleeding for three months is not normal and must definitely suck. I hate having it for 5 days and I couldn't imagine 20 times that.

You are so totally not supposed to bleed on depo provera, because the shot is suppose to make your body think it's pregenet and therefore not many women have periods. You could be pregenent and the shot has caused bleeding because of a child developing inside of you and the harmful harmones.

you need to tell your doctor all the effects you are having you may not be able to do the depo shot or it could be a more serious matter we women can not play with our health to many are not getting checked out and dying from cancer of the cervix instead of being treated .i am a cancer survivor
