is my choice good?

Question

Im gonna buy a Fuji Finepix s9000 in two weeks is it a good camera?
What do you recomond to buy with it (cards, batteries...etc)?
What camera is an alternative (im not looking for DSLR's) ? (im looking DSLR styled cameras)

Thats a great camera! Its 9 megapixels and features that new 5th gen CCD sensor, I would love to shoot some pictures with that! I would recommend buying some rechargeable batteries of the 2700mAh grade, if you can find them! A 512mb card is definitely not enough for that camera, at it's highest resolution it'll only allow you to take 56 pictures, id go up to a 1.0gb card or even a 2.0gb if you are going to be away on trips for long periods of time and won't be able to upload photos. it really depends on what you plan to use it for....it is a good camera for everyday/family trips type use, however that is about it. The lens has a nice zoom range for simple everyday uses, but you will probably grow out of it's f-stop limits. For a non-DSLR you will be most likely be happy, it has a lot more to offer than a basic point & shoot. You will like the ISO ranges, really get to know how to use that properly, it will maxamize your picture quality. Definately buy a 1 or 2 GB memory card - the 512MB won't be enough - if you shoot in JPEG you will only be able to hold about 150-200 pics on it - while that may seem like a lot, wait until you forget to unload it when you are out & you cant...it's WAY worth the money to get a larger card - I promise...

I have the S5100, and it's a great camera! You should buy it with:
1. 8 rechargeble NiMH AA batteries
2. A 512MB xD card
3. A NiMH charger that can charge at least 4 AAs at a time
