sounds like a niacin reaction-common in toddlers who take vitamins

allergic reactions usually don't cause fevers. hives, itching, and rash are common with allergic reactions...

her fever will pass in a few hours when all of the vitamin has left her system. she might get flushed cheeks or a red face.

don't give her anymore of the vitamins and treat her fever with children's suspension liquid.

give her 1tsp every 6-8 hours but no more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

if after four hours on the motrin her fever still hasn't gone down you can also give her children's tylenol. same dose as motrin-1tsp. rotate the motrin and tylenol every 4 hours to keep the fever down.

if she still has the fever after 24 hours-make an appointment to see the dr. she might have just gotten a virus right as you were giving her the vitamin and she's not reacting to it at all.

Sometimes certain minerals can make a child sick (IE; too much iron) but children's vitamins shouldn't cause fever. If she were sensitive to a mineral it would most likely show up as a stomach ache. SOME children are allergic however, to fluoridated vitamins, so if your vitamins contain fluoride, it could cause a reaction. I'm sure you know this, but if your child has a fever, choose children's Motrin over asprin to be safe. There IS a virus going around that they're having a heckuva time getting rid of. She may have just coincidentally caught a bug.

Fever is probably a coincidence, but some children react to Niacin in vitamins and get what is called a Niacin flush. They feel hot, their face may flush red, or a deep blush, which will pass within a few hours, tummy upset not unusual with niacin flush. This sounds like something different. Teething children will also run low grade temperatures too. Wouldn't hurt to consult your doctor.

Give her lot's of water to drink. Filtered is preferred. Read up on that vitamin she has, most likely it is synthetic and not good for her or anyone. Not saying the vitamins caused it just know that anything not natural will cause a reaction in the body. If you would like to get a very good supplement for your child please read the product link on my blog roll and look at MannaBears.

It could be an allergic reaction.
She also could have had the fever before hand, and you only noticed right afterward.
Take her in to the ER if you have any doubts, and let them rule it out for you.

YOU SHOULD ASK A DOCTOR THAT MAY BE IT COULD BE AN ALLERGIC REACTION ALSO I THINK YOU SHOULD TAKE HER TO THE DOCTORS OR THE EMERGENCY ROOM BECAUSE IT IS KIND OF HIGH FOR A TWO YEAR OLD

B vitamins and niacin cause a "flush" and rise in temp.
Worth looking into.
