Why does my dog sniff everything, all day long?

All my blue pitbull does is run around and sniff everything everday, allday....shes hardley ever in her crate except to sleep at nite. I can't understand why she runs around sniffs everything, all day/everyday. She never listens when you tell her to stop, I've tried everything and it's impossible she won't quit. She acts like shes missing out on something, but she can't be it's as if she lost her favorite ball or something!!! (She hasn't!!)

Dogs sniff things, it's what they do, but she could be doing it more if she is bored to keep her occupied and exercised, sounds like she could do with longer walks as she needs to use up her energy, when you're at home play fetch in the garden with her, give her dog chews to keep her occupied for a while.

dogs sniff. get used to it. a dog generally likes sniffing things; smell is its most powerful sense and thats where they get their information from. for instance, by smelling poo, a dog can tell what animal passed it, its gender, if its on heat, etc. dont stop her from smelling things cos thats what dogs do!!
