God gave us one of the most valuable gifts of all; free choice. We are all free to do with our world and our lives as we wish. Can you imagine the joy God experiences when his creations freely choose to love one another and obey his commands, even though it is often easier to be hateful? Life is a short warm moment, and we all die anyway. Not that the cruelty of man to his fellow man is justified, but that it is a part of the deal. You might say it is a sorting process for the afterlife, those who freely choose God on Earth are likely to deserve the reward of heaven!

Ok Ok Ok, Here's the deal once again for those of you that were not listening the first time. The material existence that you observe around you, however real, beautiful, fascinating, and utterly horrible it seems is only an illusion. It is our attachment to this fly zapper of a creation that brings about suffering and pain. When we let go and embrace our true nature in this universe and the timelessness of what we are (or what the creator made us for you western thinkers) then we will leave behind the hurting and fear. The simple truth is you can not loose what you don't really have, only cherish the simplicity of love and laughter.
Good Luck, BUDDA

Most of the ills we suffer from are directly traceable to our own behavior. The woes that beset us are merely the effects of causes which are not really as mysterious as we pretend. We talk of fate as if it were something visited upon us, we forget that we create our fate every day we live. GOD has nothing to do with these kids getting blown up or die of hunger everyday. We can not choose our destiny, But what we put into it is ours!

i can only speculate as to what may be a reason for this.. I do not pretend to know Gods mind. But here are some sound reason, and maybe some unsound ones too.
God Created Heaven and Earth. His home Heaven is perfect he can do anything, He created us and couldve made us all decent holy people but that wouldve taken away or free will, made us mindless drones doing his will, perhaps for some reason he has something else in store for the human race, perhaps we need to expience both good and evil and he needed to give us a place to do that called earth, since heaven is perfect and could not allow evil in heaven. But you may ask for what reason would God need us to experience evil, perhaps it is the best way to grow to become more enlightened. If you look at some of the wars we have fought, we have learned different lessons (though we are stubborn and need to continue to learn these lessons) and it has made our civilization greater and many aspects. Look at health care and surgery, We learned much on the battlefield to save peoples lives and how the human body works. Even Hitler and the Nazi's probably one of the most evil groups of recent history gave us all many useful tools in understanding the body and also many achievements in technology.
Like i said i dont know God's ultimate plan for us as a race. I guess life is what it is. But i do know that he made us the way we are for a reason and I trust in him that he knows best for us and has a plan even though it is difficult for us to understand it.

God created first a perfect world, and laid out one rule for us to follow. Well we had the whole world in our hands, and we wanted the one thing that God said we couldn't have. From then on God gave us all a free will, to make choices ourselves and do what we want to do. There you have it.
Some people are mean and want to hurt others all of the time, the more the better, some people are nice, and do good to people, they all have a free will and can make their own choices.

Blessed are those who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
Luke 6:20-22.
See, God is concerned mostly with the soul. He understands better than we ever could that our life on earth is so short, and even if we have to go through terrible hardships on earth, we will be rewarded in Heaven, for eternity.
God is very saddened by what is going on in the world, but it is our responsibility to learn from our mistakes and to deal with the needs of his people. That is why the bible is full of "love your neighbor" and help the poor and suffering" messages.
We ruined his perfect world, so we are the ones to blame.

yes, God could have created a world in which there was perfect happiness and nothing ever bad happens to anyone else. To create such a world, He would have had to create us with no free will. We would not have the ability to hate each other or the ability to love one another.

God created a perfect world! Men destroyed God's perfection by sinning! God did not create men to be robots but created men with a free will! Men did not have to sin but he chose to sin when he disobeyed God!
But God did not leave men without hope! God sent us a Saviour! Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so that you and I could have eternal life in Heaven!

The only way the world would stay that way is to not give use choice or free will.
Without choice or free will we really wouldn't be more then a rock or tree, no emtions, critical thought or true love. It would have made creation pointless.

Why does God have to be a rational, thinking, human-like diety? Maybe God just is the essense of life eternal. Sounds new age-ish, but it also sounds far more feasible than an omni-potent despot dispensing fates.
