Vertigo is not acutally a diagnosis...it's a symptom. It bascially means dizziness. My question is why do you have the dizziness? It could be because of a central cause...such as poor blood flow to certain areas of the brain, or it could be a more peripheral cause such as an innner ear problem. One type of inner ear problem is called BPPV or benign positional paroxsymal vertigo. This is caused when some particles in the inner ear become disloged and wind up in an area where there stimulate the wrong nerve cells. This "conflict" is too much for the brain to handle and results in dizziness. A physical therapist who has been trained in treating this type of problem can often fix it in one or two treatment sessions. They can also treat other forms of vertigo, but the treatment is much more prolonged and usually requires a cooperation between being treated medically by your doctor and the therapist providing "habituation" exercises.

The neurologist could give you a better explanation as to why you have vertigo and steer you in the right direction.

Take a leave from work, and face your vertigo, visit your neurologist..It must be something about about your system on balance...no driving for now...there's an immediate capsule for that, but see your doctor first

Dear Inay69

My husband suffered from that and it is awful. They removed some spinal fluid and it went away. Just a thought. But your neurologist should be able to help you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Not at all, my good Pumpkin! I'd simply turn into a vampire bat, and fly away!
