"yeah, i'll have a bible heave on the "gays are bad" but light on the "help the poor" and i only want comandments 1,5,7,9,10 oh and make number 5 light, you know, make war ok "

do you see people around you who are this way? if i anger you that is ok the jews where angry when jesus drove the market out of the house of the lord. i am no jesus. i only say the truth as i see it.

You're absolutely right. Christianity is the "something for everyone" religion, and people pick and choose those aspects of it that they prefer. If you're inclined towards pacifism, there's the meek-and-mild Jesus of the Gospels (well, most of the Gospels, anyway). But if you believe in war as a means of solving problems, then you're in luck, you get the Avenger Jesus of the Book of Revelations.*

Just flip a few pages of the Holy Babble and you'll find the justification for whatever it is that you want to do.

1) Because you spend too much time in Burger King and not enough time in church.

2) Some Christians seem to pick and choose what they like out of the commandments and obligations toward service. Not all do, though.

3) The commandment is "Thou shalt not murder." Murder is different from killing. I, personally, am not supporting or refusing to support war--I'm just telling you like it is. The correct translation is "murder," not "kill."

4) Yes, I see people around me who are the way you describe.

5) Jesus' rage at the people's making his father's house a marketplace is not commensurate with any anger I may or may not have at a person for stating their opinion.

6) You are no Jesus. Neither am I.

7) That is the essence: It is the truth AS YOU SEE IT. You are not seeing things fully.

That's okay, though. Not everyone can.

If you truly believe this, then why don't you change the church for the better. Step up, and save those that you believe that are doing Gods commands wrongly. You can't even compare your self to Jesus. Jesus changed the way people thought about his father (God). He did not say the things he said to see peoples reactions. He said it because he knew it was the truth. You may believe that you are speaking the truth because it comes from your point of view, but you never gave the time to know what being a Christian is all about.

It all looks tasty! I would choose Wendy's Old Fashion Burgers w/ a Frosty or McDonalds new Chipotle Angus Burger w/ a McFlurry. But, then again, BK and Churches sound good too!

yes, I do, unfortunately, see people like that! and a lot of them are trolling around these forums. they "use" religion, out of context (as I don't think most of them have read the whole thing) to justify passing judgment on those they don't deem fit. i.e. anyone/anything different from them is bad, exactly like them is good. throw in an occasional bit of charity, and you have a lot of these "fake" Christians.
the real Christians are open-minded, loving and accepting of all mankind. no matter their gender, race, orientation, culture or religion.
sad, but a lot of the time, true!

I think chuches are more like the food court at the mall. Each only allows limited choices but there is always something better 2 booths down.

I see many people using christianity as a tool rather than a way of life. It is sad and i think that is what you are getting at. The thing is their is no way to stop it. The devil is subtle in how he works us against God.. we all must be watchful

Maybe if some people would stop the erroneous teaching that the ten commandments "passed away" then people would concentrate on them more. It was the Mosaic laws that passed away.

The ten commandments were reiterated by Christ in the gospel and Paul in Paul's epistles.
