I say no, that is why I do whatever I can not to send mine.

For the most part yeah, the ones who aren't safe in daycares are usually the attendants themselves. I have two friends that work in a daycare center and they get bitten, scratched, grabbed, poked, and hit all day long and can't do anything about it.

But hey, at least the kids don't hurt each other.

When my sister was in day care, a worker picked her up by her arm and pulled it out of the socket. Yes, it was an accident, but it was very preventable. I know that this was nearly 15 years ago, but I find it hard to believe that children are safe in all day cares.

Do your research and check them out go and see the staff and how they interact with the other children there, see how clean it is and take your child with you as they are the ones that are going to be left there. My son went to day care from the age of 2 until he started school. He was safe and loved there by the staff and I never had any fears that he was going to be unsafe there.

Day cares are really good for kids cuz they interact with other kids. And also they get on a schedule which makes your life easier. As far as safety you would have to do a little research to find a good one in your price range. And it would help to meet or interview them before sending your child there. Hope this helps :}

It really depends on the daycare. I personally dont like the idea of putting one of my children in daycare, and it was all because one bad one turned me off of all daycares. They wouldn't respect my wishes, in reference to my son, and after repeating my requests numerous times (requests like "Don't let my 6 month old chew on toys used by the other kids, as it spreads germs and contagous diseases"), I finally said enough is enough and I found a private home to put him in. You do have to be careful with these types of childcare also, and I think that you should make sure that you get one that is registered by the state, someone that has been recommended by friends or family, or a friend or family member themself. A parent has to use their best judgement on the daycare setting that they feel most comfortable with.

Not necessarily. I worked in daycare for a couple years after high school, and you'd be pretty surprised what went on behind closed doors. Your best bet is to get to know your child's teacher and start an open, honest, trusting relationship with her.

Depends on the location and the inspection. Most are perfectly safe. Trust but verify. Talk to clients, call the inspecting agency to see what they have in their files. Most importantly, look for ANY change in behavior by your child.

Go with a licensed Day Care Center. The license requires that they have training, proper staffing, safety equipment and such. Naturally, you have to begin to trust them, by talking to other people about these facilities.

Good luck

maybe yes...depending on the location and how guarded the school could be. This is .for the children's safety not to be able to get out of the school when nobody is there to fetch them.

from germs? no. from crazed lunatics who are out to steal your babies and hold them for ransom? i'd think so, unless the daycare is seriously corrupted and the owner of it is seriously deluded into thinking everything is smiles and care bears.
