I'm LDS and I love that we don't have a paid ministry. However, the church does pay the salaries of many people, like custodians, institute and seminary teachers. I understand that even Pres. Hinckley and the Apostles get stipends to support themselves and their families. The Church Office Building in Salt Lake is full of people who are employed to handle the logistics of running the church.

Of course! When money is involved... corruptness follows. At least that is how I feel. And the guy who responded is incorrect. The church does not pay for anyone to clean their church buildings. Folks who attend their church volunteer a few times a month to clean it. :)

Why should you get paid for religious services? Also, the church does have employees for things like building maintenance.

Alot of people who serve their church don't get paid...that's the whole point of volunteering.

Yes I know it all goes to church building and investments.
They only thing that is good about Mormonism is they use a real Bible and follow the ten commandments.
There view of Jesus is a terribly diminished Jesus and incorrect.

True....so the required tithes and offereing go to make the church richer and richer. They have investments in major businesses all over the world.

No, I didn't. I guess this means they really believe in what they're doing! There are other religions like that as well. I know that Wiccans don't take money for their services. Can anyone else think of others?

No I did not....but then again no one that services in my church gets paid either....
