I'm lactose intolerant and hurl when I normally have cheese. Although I can have dorittos and not hurl (go figure!) any way could I try yogurt cheese and not hurl? is it safe to eat for lactose intolerant people? I am tired of not being able to eat cheese. help!

True cheese is lactose-free, so is true-yogurt. If you are only mildly lactose intolerant, try yogurts with live culture. The live culture will help you with any stray lactose that wanders into your diet. Velveeta and other American cheeses ( by this, I do not mean all cheeses made in America) are not true cheeses. Look for the statement, "processed cheese food" and then avoid it like the plague. By the way, not all cheese is made from cow's milk. Goat, sheep, and other non-dairy cheeses are are real taste treat. Enjoy cheese, just watch out for fake cheese.
By the way, I am also lactose intolerant.

First read the ingredients in Doritos, and I would be willing, without looking to bet there is no cheese in them.

Lactose is the form of sugar found in milk products. I think it's still there in yogurt.

You could try it and see, or ask your physician.

Hrmm..

I would say if you can hold down ice cream.. perhaps you can hold down yogart cheese. Both are cooked milk..so you might just have a shot. Perhaps you should take a bite and just hope for the best! :D

Good luck, and God Bless
