The Name of Jesus.. there is no other name given in Heaven or Earth in which to be saved. The Father Son and Spirit are One, they are Jesus. The fullness of Deity dwells within Him bodily, Col 2:9

He was and is talking to Christians to go out and make disciples for Jesus. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are a name. They are the names of God.

'Father' , 'Holy Ghost'(KJV) and 'Son'(Jesus) all refer to the trinity.
They are indeed names because they refer to God who is a personal God.

1st John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus*), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

*John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Jesus is talking to the 11 apostles (exit Judas of course). His words are perserved for all Christains therefore he is speaking to all readers who are Christians.

"In the name of" means by the authority of. If a police officer says, "Stop in the name of the law!", he is saying that he has the law given authority to command you to stop. "Law" is not a name either.

Baptism is commanded by the authority, and according to the instructions of God! To command one to be baptized "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20); or to be baptized "In the name of Christ" (Acts 2:38) is the same since Jesus has "all authority" given to him from the Father, and all three members instruct (authorize) the same thing about baptism. Ephesians 4 says there is "one baptism".

To follow the authority (instructions) of one member of the Godhead is the same as following all three.

The name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit is "I AM" That is the name He gave to Moses & it is the name Jesus gave to the Pharasees.
He was before all & will continue forever. God who is Father, Son & Holy Spirit in one is the true God who created all by His word, sustains all that continues to be & paid the price Himself for us to have true relationship with Him, have true peace & live eternally.
