to have never been on date, dated, or kissed prior to entering college?

I'm just wondering how common that is. Thanks for the input!

I refused to date in high school out of choice, but now I'm not sure I did the right thing. [nervous laugh]

You definitely did the right thing. I was in a similar position to you, and started to feel bad that I was so inexperienced etc.

The way I eventually dealt with it was to have a fling with this guy friend of mine (lets not get into that story too much), and after things ended with him, I realised sex really wasn't such a big deal. I ended up going out with this guy I'd known and liked for ages, and we've been together ever since.

And, by the way, sex and dating in general are soooooooo much better when you're older. So be thankful that you were smart enough to by-pass all the awkward encounters you would have gone through in high school and you've skipped right through to the good stuff!

Now you're in college, let yourself have a bit of fun (but be safe) and get to know yourself and find out what you like and don't like etc. Enjoy! :o)

Girl-can you get yourself out there please! Maybe, no boyfriend or sex, but no date or kiss? You are missing out on some fun stuff and you are definitely old enough for at least a little fun. At this point I would probably just tell one of my guy friends to make out with me only because I haven't before. And from now on try to meet some people. Dates can be a lot of fun and you don't have to sleep with someone just cuz you go on a date. Don't stress it-you'll see.

It's not odd or uncommon. Everyone is different when it comes to being in a relationship. If you refused to date in H.S. because it was your choice, than so be it. A lot of people are like this, so don't worry. What you did probably was the best. You wouldn't have to be worried about your studies, school work, or the hardship of breaking up, etc. And who knows? Maybe your first kiss or first date is for that someone very special and could be your husband too =)! I think your 1st boyfriend would be so lucky, since he wouldn't have to worry about your ex's and what you did with them, etc.

So live up your life and don't worry about a thing =)!

I gaurantee you, a month into college and you'll be singing a different tune! Especially if you're going "away".

I knew lots of people my freshman year who were virgins or hadn't kissed before. ..and most of them were very different a couple of months later.

But some of the best looking girls I knew claimed virginity even to 21 and beyond. I believe them, and they had very satisfying social lives.

In short, don't sweat it!

Haha, I'm currently in your prior stage.. refusing to date in high school. I don't feel like dating.. maybe senior year. I'm just worried about what the future lies for me.. I've never kissed either, don't worry about it. School first.

It is not odd. I waited a very long time. Very long time. And it was totally worth it. Everyone matures at different rates and you'll start when you are ready to. Have your friends and fun and do the school thing. It will happen when it happens. Don't let anyone tell you its odd.
