i was thinking of getting a like new born one so that i could raise it to get used to me and all that

Ducklings aren't that expensive the lowest price you can find is a$1.00 or $1.50. Try looking in your phone book or doing a websearch for a feed store or farm in your area.

you might be better with a baby goose they are friends only to the one that feed them
actually here in Australia I bought 6 8 week old ducklings for 24 dollars day olds should be cheaper

get more than one... they're not designed to be alone. and really, once you have one, 5 - 10 more don't make much difference. attend some fairs and talk to the judge and some exhibiters, they may have smaller #'s or know of some swap meets you could attend. for supplys and if you want a larger number, try http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com

actually we run an auction, and we have seen ducks bring anywhere from 1.00 to 20.00 a female (hen always brings more than a drake(male) but right now u can get a full grow hen for about 7.00 the babies bring anywhere from 2.00 to 6.00 good luick god bless

my friend got one for free *looks confused* she actaully she got 5 because a fox had killed the mum like 10 minutes ago, so my bff shelly just raised the ducklinggs for free!

if you ask around you will frind a BEAUTIFUL duckling thats YOUNG, and if you get the right species, will be one of your best friends

Am told you have to cook duck longer than any other bird you might choose to eat.

wait until spring, about easter time, you can usually get one for about $5.00.
