We live in northwestern montana and looking for a group to help us train our dogs.
Any suggestions?

Contact breed clubs in your area, they can point (Haha!) you in the right direction. I am sure Montana must have hunting clubs as well. Do a search and you will come up with the info you are looking for.

There are also books that could help get you started. Try at dogwise.com

BTW - most shelters have AR tendencies and are VERY unlikely to assist you in teaching your dog to hunt.

You might want to check out GunDogsOnline.com. They have a kennel / trainer directory where you can search by state for breeders and / or trainers in your area. They also have a ton of articles on how to train a hunting dog.

I am in western montana and the best advice i can give is to contact your local animal shelter they may now of some area groups or be able to direct you to someone who would now.

contact your state DNR,local(county) kennel clubs,breed assoc.,SCI, uh...the NAVHDA(if I "spelled" that correctly),sportsmans clubs,huntin lodges...that help?
