Yeah, you come back to Earth. It happened to Lobo. Except he was too wicked even for Hell's standards instead of not bad enough, like you said. Then he basically became immortal because of that. And he killed Santa Claus, which was cool. But I'm not sure if that was before or after he got kicked out of Hell.

Then there's this place called Purgatory where you just play cards with other people and swim in the river Styx until the bureocrats get through tons of paper work to decide what to do with you. I heard that in some situations, your destiny is decided in a game of chess against the Grim Reaper himself while Megadeth's "Go To Hell" plays in the background to disrupt your concentration! Cool, huh?

There's also a third place. Well, it's not actually a place, it's more like a journey through several places: a coffin (which includes a coffin-ride in a hearse), dirt and the stomachs of earthworms, maggots and other dirt-dwelling creatures like that. It's kinda fun up until the end.

Here's a fun story. I once murdered an innocent family in cold blood, then I accepted Jesus into my heart and when I died I went to Heaven. Then Buddha thought I wasn't enlightened yet and brought me back to Earth. In that new life, I was a great person and did only good, but I never even heard of Jesus and when I died I ended up in Hell. Then I got bored there and came to Yahoo! to answer some questions because I didn't think of anything better to waste my time with.

If you want to be comforted with that thought, become a Catholic.
In reality there is Heaven and Hell, find Jesus and you will go to heaven. I did not mean anything bad about Catholicism, but I did go to a catholic grade school and I am now a Christian and that is the path that I will follow. I traveled many roads without God and I don't see my life without God. Even when I put Him on the back burner thinking I could do it myself, He was there with me always.

Yup, it's called Purgatory.

The purpose of Purgatory is to cleanse those who are not bad enough for hell, but not good enough for heaven. Purgatory is temporary; once someone is cleansed, they enter Heaven. In fact, if someone is in Purgatory, it is *guaranteed* that they will enter Heaven eventually, thus making the people in Purgatory among the "saved."

No one has ever presented any hard evidence of heaven, hell, purgatory, reincarnation, or total annihilation. If there's someplace you'd like to go and belief in it brings you comfort, feel free to believe. Your beliefs will be just as valid as any of the many others presented here.

Purgatory....But its only a stopping off place. Nothing permanent. And its not a "second chance". It a place of final purification or purging. If you make it to Purgatory you will eventually make it to Heaven. No one there goes to Hell.

Nope. Theres only those 2. Theres no such thing as purgatory. If you don't have Jesus you go to hell. If you've accepted Him as your Savior and follow Him, you go to Heaven. Simple as that.

God bless you.

Whom are you asking? As a Christian, I know the answer is NO, and you don't get to heaven by being good, by the way. No one can work hard enough to earn his/her way into the majesty of God.

I suspect you'd like a more comfy, promising answer from someone else, though, but since you didn't specify....

There's an all-night diner off I-15 near St. George, Utah. You might try there.
