Hardly a day goes by at school where at least one person doesn't remind me that I'm short, as if I don't know or could do something about it. How can I respond politely without sounding rude or sarcastic?

Just tell them that you appreciate their comments by sweetly saying, "Ohh, thanks so much for telling me that, I really like my height." I'm short also and have had to deal with this for decades now. I also know that good things come in small packages, and so should you! Have a good night!

Just smile and go on, being short is great. Been that way all my life. you can hide easier, you don't have to duck in forests, or in low basements, you can sleep about anywhere, you can ride comfortably in all types of cars, you can get through a crowd faster, you can get up front at parades, and best of all, most of your dance partners will never be shorter than you are. Accept yourself for who you are and let the mouthy people drink lye!

I'm short too, and I had that problem, until people found th short people can go into more places (low) than they can. Yeah it's tuff on high spots, but have fun with it. Start asking them how's the air up there. get them to giggling with you.

C'mon, if it happens that often, BE sarcastic!! I'd just say something like "Well, thank you, Captain Obvious!" Or act really surprised, like you had absolutely no idea that you're short.

just smile back and say nothing.. being sarcastic and forward should have done the work before.. do this for a change and they will feel your not comfortable with that comment anymore.

Just respond with "and it's important for you to point that out to me because................?" Stops them cold, every time. People who make rude or hurtful remarks do NOT expect a come-back.

You can't, unless you just smile meekly and stand there. I would act surprised when they say you are short, and thank them profusely for pointing that out.

Embarrass them, they are being rude.

Don't say anything. That way you don't have to regret being rude, and they are left with the (silly) sound of their own words ringing in their ears.

Act surprised. Then they will think before they state the obvious.

Just tell these people, "No I'm not short. Everyone else is simply too tall."
