like seriously, have a look at the Jews, they keep their religion and they are predominately peace loving westernized people, I've many Buddhists and Hindus going the same way, why wont muslims just stop all their crap and just be normal like everybody else, they can still keep their religion but have a western democratic world view

normality is relative. we each define it according to the prevailing norms in our particular society. I am not a Muslim but a lot of my friends are-- and they ARE peace loving. true Muslims are great people, not at all fanatics, as you stereotyped them. my friends are all spritual in the full sense of the word, kind and gentle.. some are rich, some are poor, some are asians, some are americans, some are blacks-- they come from all walks of life.
Im a devout Catholic, but the differences in religion never bothered us. it actually made us more "whole," when we can love each other despite that. we are brothers and sisters.
I wonder what you mean exactly by: "..I've many Buddhists and Hindus going the same way.."-- were you insinuating that the rest of us HAVE to embrace your way of life? if so, it might be you who needs to do some retrospecting-- or introspecting as to how you define culture.

Wow, cant believe thou art that blind about Israel. They are peace loving westernized people? idk but have you ever heard about Israel killing civil people in Lebanon too? Plus, as a Turkish originated person, I believe that I am Alhamdullillah Muslim and westernized as well. Plus I also dunno what you mean with the word westernized. If you mean, to kill people with technology, i better not wanna be westernized but if you mean being, clean, trustworthy, helping and honest i am already westernized. Coz, it is already the fundamentals of Islam. I recommend you to read some about The real true Islamic Life. You wont believe what you read and will say, wow they are way further westernized than me. Maybe, you could change your stereotyped prejudice against real Muslims, not the ones who are radical like the radicals and fanatics in other religions such as Christianity and Judaism...

Look at it from their point of view : THEY are probably thinking that they probably wish YOU would just be normal and that all of US should just see things THEIR way and be NORMAL like THEM... you see? Just wait, in the very near future, when the governments abolish religions entirely in an effort to make everyone think alike, that will be an attempt by the world leaders to try and get everyone thinking the 'same' way. we are given a guide to live by,we can not take up the ways of the kufr,we can not compromize ourselves in that way,we dress a certain way because it is obligatory of us,we must follow the teachings and not vere.i would think none of us would want to be in the catagory with non believers or be judged for wanting to be as they are.I am an american muslim who reverted 8 months ago and I follow the sunnah as close as possible.I am just as normal now as i was then,whatever that may be

You are making a HUGE and incorrect generalization. There are bad people no matter what their religeon or skin color or sexual orientation.
The only reason you are assuming Muslims are all bad is because all we hear about are the radicals. Maybe you need to do some further intelligent research.

Actually, they don't want to join modern society because they feel that it is impossible to be true to their religion and give up their traditions.
I'm not Muslim, I'm Christian, but I almost feel the same. Even if my family wants to be decent and good, we can't even drive down the road without seeing half-naked people on billboards, listen to the radio without hearing gossip and trash, or watch a show on t.v. without sex and murder in it.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to stay true to the old-fashioned ways.
