I'm giving alot of thought to joining Army Intelligence, specifically human intellegence collection. If anyone has served in Army intelligence, please tell me a little about your experience and your opinions about the job. Thanks

Anyone who tells you anything on that subject here is a liar, Soldiers and civillians dealing with sensitive information are required to sign Non Disclosure Statements which means they can not talk about or around those subjects.

HUMINT (HUman INTelligence)is generally the realm of CIA, ELINT (ELectronic INTelligence is more the realm of MI.

See a Recruiter, Second Languages, Computer Languages are generally desired, Also consider the FBI CIA, NSA, DIA, State Department, US Treasury (Secret Service) BATFE and IRS as civilian options!

Good Luck!

I haven't, but I'm in the Army and I know someone that could tell a little about it. I don't think he does intelligence collection. It's mainly stuff about OPSEC (Operations Security), and what's happening right now that might be a threat to soldiers as leave posts and stuff like that. I'll talk to him and you e-mail or something, I haven't seen if you have a contact e-mail on here. I do though. Oh yeah, part of OPSEC=no IM. LOL!(For real though). Also, all these lame answers about the military not being intelligent are right on, but it's not that bad. I do many meaningless un-intelligent things, becuase of "Regs" (regulations), but the military is what you make of it.

I had 12 years in the U.S. Army, I didn't see any sign of Intelligence. Except in a few good N.C.O's

Army Intelligence is an oxymoron. But if you're talking about spying, secrecy and scheming, the answer is: If you hang out with perverts, sooner or later you'll become one.

I can neither confirm nor deny every serving in Army intelligence and would not be predisposed to discuss any matters relating to it if I did.

Get ready for a trip to California. Be prepared to recite the state motto in Farsi, Korean, or some other language. You're DLAB bound son, get your chin up. Others are just jealous.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

I am sorry but I cannot think of anything positive to say about the military, other than, I feel so badly for the poor boys who've died, and those who return home to "No Benefits" and when 8 men in one unit turn up at a VA hospital with the same symptoms, they are told it's a coincidence.

we are able to win this conflict, yet us of a of america now no longer has the tummy or the balls to win a conflict of attrition. you are able to no longer win a Politically spectacular conflict. the only thank you to win a conflict is thru attrition. You kill them till they now no longer have the skill or the prefer to combat. So no George Bush isn't the best generic. that is generic Patton.
