And they are telling us the freedom and liberties of our constitution are out of date...

Gouverneur Morris was largely responsible for the “wording” of the Constitution, although there was a Committee of Style formed in September 1787.

I confused him with the D of I so I guess it was a bit of a team effort

Our Founding Fathers were inspired, brilliant men. In the past 100 years, many have tried to rewrite history in order to promote their agenda of Communism or Socialism....

We need to resurrect the writings of these men and renew our effort to preserve this nation. America is a priceless gift. My people have been here since 1740. They have fought in behalf of this land. I have inherited a priceless gift, my right to be a citizen. I will work until I no longer can to preserve our Constitution. I will also work against those who shred the meaning and twist the words of our Constitution to push their own perverted agendas.

A smart great man. Not to long ago on TV-I heard them mention a few more on the constitution who wrote things to prevent government control on immigration and to give "we the people" some say. If I find it I will add it.
Very very nice post.

Um, the largest contributor of our constitution was James Madison, and I don't know his feelings on immigrattion. My guess is that two hundred + years ago, they were trying to populate a pretty empty (of folks of European ancestry, anyway) continent, and would perhaps have a different attitude on the subject now than they did then.

Another wise man, I cant recall his name at present, once said;" If we do not learn from histories mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them." Forgive me if this is misquoted.
It seems to me that this nations founders were men of profound wisdom and far seeing insights. The parallelism to todays immigration debate is uncanny.
GREAT link.

Jefferson knew what he was talking about ... he wanted the States to deal with immigration as well, not the Feds ... a man well ahead of his time ... :)
