If it's not your fault, the at-fault driver should pay the repairs and a reasonably daily allowance for a replacement. If it's just you and your insurance company, then they would only pay for the cost of repairs less your deductible, and you would only get rental if you had that coverage on your policy. And as most have said, it's usually a capped daily amt, like 25 dollars a day. Or are you talking about paying for someone else's damages out of your own pocket for an accident for which you were at fault? If that's the case, 150 for two days of rental is insane!

It depends. Your insurance would pay for the damages less the deductible if you have collision coverage. They would only pay a certain amount for rental if you purchased it. For the rental: please note that this is too much for a replacement vehicle. If you go to a rental place and tell them that you need the rental as your car was in an accident, you will get a better rate. also, with the rental, if you have liability and collision coverage on your existing vehicle, it becomes a temproary subsitute under your policy and you do not have to pay for the liability and collision coverages through the rental co. If you are going through the other persons co. as you are not at fault, they will pay for the damages if they are liable, but they can cap you at the $ amount per day of a rental car.

150 for 2 days of a rental car is very expensive (unless you are renting a coverette or something strange). I would say you could get a rental car for about $20 a day. I'm not sure what's wrong with your car but if you didn't hit anyone else it might be cheaper just to pay out of pocket, especially if your deductible is more than 265.

Unless you have a rental car reimbursement on your insurance policy. you're out of luck. Find a body shop that supply you with a loaner car. Your insurance company cannot legally obligate you into going with their body shop either. The truth is if you aren't at fault, your rates should not go up. If you are at fault, your rates will go up regardless as they pull your driving record on a regular basis.

hmm sometimes your rates wont go up. but in any case you should only be paying about 40.00 a day for a rental car. some insurances do pay for this but only about 25.00 a day towards your rental.

as long as the accident was not your fault, then yes. it will pay for a rental, or it will pay per day for public trans. in my case they gave me $30 a day for 2 weeks to get around.
