Hey guys. Im getting a miniature puppy in a few weeks. She will be about 9/10 weeks when I bring her home. Id eventually like to have her go potty outside, but I understand it may be better to start off on paper? I will be buying a crate, and will crate her when she cant be watched. Please give me advice and step to step details on how to successfully housebreak her. Thank you!

Keep her in a small crate, with just enough room for her to turn around but that is all. She will not "potty" where she has to lie down. When you take her out of the crate, bring her directly to the door and repeat the words you want her to learn that mean "potty",,, some people say "want to go out"? or Go Potty now. That way she will go outside, do her business and come back,, keep repeating Go Potty, while she is outside, once she does it,, praise her Good Girl!!!! When she comes in, give her a small treat, 1/4 of a dog treat, very small, but enough that she gets the idea that if she goes out, goes potty and comes back, she will get a reward. I used this with my boxer and it worked within 4 days!! Good Luck!

Fun having animals. Dogs are like children they need more love and attention. I would start by taking it out before an after meals so it ges a routine and before bedtime say like 10 pm is very usual and last walk. They usually wake up about 6 am you have to be ready with your clothes on and with the leash walk quickly out the door. They would bark early. Piss in the house is not your fault but be alert. Dogs love walks and it good for you too. At this young and older 8 times a day in all weather conditions the dog would love you for it.
