I re-read the extension form and it says 6 months, so that would put the deadline at 10/15... but everyone I've talked to says no, it's 8/15. If you know the answer, please let me know. I've never filed an extension before so I'm just freaking out a little. :)

In prior years you could file two different extensions for an individual return. The first one was an automatic four months (the August 15th) and the second was a request that had to be approved by the IRS for an additional two months.

For 2005, they got rid of this (to save time and money) and made all individual extension requests an automatic six months.

So rest easy, you have until October 16 (the 15th is on Sunday, so it goes to the next business day) to file your return.

Good luck!!

Mitt has lots he ought to opt to conceal. This administration is uncovering a tremendous variety of airborne dirt and mud, even in his own administration. Obama will freshen up the secret service, the CSA and inspite of else his administration famous. Obama does no longer turn a blind eye. he will carry human beings to blame. He would not attempt to conceal stuff like Mitt and the previous GOP Bush administration.
