The truth is that witches aren't any different and don't look any different from anybody else. We are just normal people living everyday lives. Some of us wear pagan jewelry (like a pentacle, pentagram, or other goddess symbol. Some Wiccan symbols used in the jewelry: http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bldefswiccasymbols.htm)

However, most are careful about whom the let know about their spiritual path because they are so persecuted and misunderstood. If you think someone might be a witch simply ask. If you are asking so that you can try to save their soul, or tell them they are going to hell don't bother because they've probably heard it before and don't want to hear it again!

Here is a really great article on wikipedia all about witchcraft. It's good to actually be informed and find things out for yourself rather than relying on the words of others and stereotypes like those found in popular media about witches.

Don't be ignorant! You have a choice. So learn. :-)

Blessings and Light!

there's been witch craft around for centuries. I haven't seen any ever but it has to exist. Witch of Endor is the first I seen in a reputable book. I think I would rather not know any person that is . one is better off without knowing i hope .of course I always liked Bewitch and all the other shows on TV that have witch craft.

You can tell if you know a Witch if she or he tells you that she or he is a Witch. Most are open about their religion and will answer any questions you may have as long as you are sincere and polite!

For the Monty Python answer: if that person weighs less than a duck!

well, witches are just people. They just have a more down to earth belief than you. You and ask the person if they are a witch, but because of the christian persecution they my feel threatened and not answer.

Best to ask, because the ones who are really Witches most times are not going to make it obvious. In other words you won't know just by looking at them. Don't expect a straight answer most times if you ask though. Some will be evasive for various reaons (fear of losing their jobs, ousted by family, to name a few)

You will have a natural calling to being a witch. Because that is what being a witch its. Nature is the "pagans" toughest teacher.

I've met many witches in my life, and they come in all shapes and sizes. There isn't one way to describe a witch physically.

But I suppose what you'd be looking for is someone who is.......earthy. Dresses in flowing skirts, peasant tops. And then morally, someone who is accepting, earth loving, people loving, and very much spiritually intune.

Use the words of the trade.
Have a blessed day or Blessed be.

Its a wonderful part of life to work toward being a "wise" wiccan.
Best Wishes, Blessed be to you and thee
