If the Mormon religion is a cult, then so are all religions. They do wear sacred garments under their clothing which serve as a reminder of the covenats they make with God in their temples. Yes they do think that when Jesus was resurrected and he told Mary that he had work to do in other lands before showing people he was back, that he went to the Americas and visited the natives living here.

Also, there are over 12 million Mormons in the world today, and no the cults that practive polygamy are not Mormons.

I'm sorry I don't have any answers to your question, but here is an irrelevant story... I was in Utah this past weekend, and it was seriously like being in a different country, a very strange and foreign one. Every where you looked there were families with 15 kids with parents as old as my grandparents. Gas stations were closed on Sunday as well as 95% of other businesses. The gas stations that were open didn't have maps of Salt Lake City... very strange and very scary that people can have so much blind faith in something like religion. Also on a side note, I have met a Mormon child who was taught that you aren't a "Christian" if you don't wear a skirt if you are female. Talk about brain washing. I also agree every religion is a cult.

I am a Latter-day Saint Christian. Otherwise known as Mormon. In my research of the word "cult", I guess you could call it that if you want, hey, we accept being called Mormons and we are Christians in the truest sense. Call us what you will but there are 13 million members and growing worldwide, truly the Lord's work. Yes, we are protected by divinity and wear the garments of the holy priesthood until our work is finished on the earth. I am grateful and blessed, I know the church is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.

Technically, all religious groups are considered cults.

Just because you don't agree with their teachings doesn't make their beliefs any less likely than the probability of other religious teachings. I am sure that the change that the Garden of Eden was really in MO is just as likely as the world only being 6,000 years old.

Cult, of course. But, then, ALL 'revealed' religions are cults, aren't they?
