Do they have a mommy and me class at your city recreation center? That would be great for both of you. Also find a local moms group in your area. How about a Gymboree in your town? I hope I was helpfull.

Many experts say that the ages of 0 to 5 are the years when a person's personality are formed for the most part. My suggestion is anything you do with her is important, reading, playing hand games, touching, those kind of things...It will make a difference later down the line. You could sing songs, or go outside and exercise, that kind of thing. Anything that involves interaction with Mommy. Try some kind of role play, something that will stimulate her little imagination. Just being there is a great thing ...Lots of mothers plant their child in front of a television just to keep them occupied...Sounds to me you are doing the right thing

Oh my gosh YES!!!
Get some empty boxes and make things. You can find them by going to local stores. Get larger ones from places that sell aquariums. My kids loved it! Make puppet stages, and make sock puppets for the characters. Make stores out of the larger boxes, save all your empty cardboard or plastic containers for "groceries" and find a little push cart so she can go shopping. You can be the cashier.
Also, cut the box apart, so you have a flat piece. Cover it with a single color of felt as a background. Then you can get some colored felt pieces, and cut them into all kinds of things. They stick just like colorforms, but the fun never runs out, because you can just keep making new things!
Imagination is an amazing thing. It is so incredible to see Moms like you who interact with their children rathen than sticking them in daycare, or in front of a television! Have a great time!!

When ever my children and I are bored, we get crafty. My children especially enjoy painting. So, I take out an old shower curtain, poster board and wash off finger paint. I pour out the paint on the curtain and allow them to put on old clothes, then they body paint. They have alot of fun, and the paint washes off easy with a bath. Not to mention I have may art pics on my refrigerator.

Go to the park, go to the beach, do some crafts. Even though she's only 1 1/2 she would still like to do that stuff....

You can play learning games. You can do finger paints, maybe make something for the baby like a big sister shirt. Read to her.

play with play dough or paint with finger paints. Do things together that are hands on. Don't freak if she gets dirty, that is what they are supposed to do, they can be washed.
