Ali would cut Tyson to pieces.
Tyson would have to be the most over hyped Heavyweight of all time. He fought 2nd and 3rd raters. He chased, they ran. Most of them didnt know how to defend themselves & were to scared to throw punches effectively.
The first time he fought someone who fought back he got snotted and lets face it Buster Douglas wont be mentioned in the list of great fighters.
Ali would have jabbed him to pieces and taken full toll of Tyson everytime he tried to get in close. I could name at least 20 heavyweights who would have destroyed Tyson. Tyson was just an angry thug with a reasonably big punch and a suspect jaw who fought during a period when the heavyweight ranks were very depleted of talented fighters.

Ali knocks Tyson out 2nd or 3rd round. The fight would not go past the 6th, if it did then they would need to have a bed ready for Tyson at the nearest hospital!

Ever seen Rumble in the jungle. Foreman hits a lot hardere than Tyson. Muhammad Ali was already an "old man" when he beat him. If they were the same age, Ali would have won handily. He's very good in psychology and he'd go into Mike's head. Tyson get frustrated easily and will make a lot of mistake. Ali's just too fast and speed is power. A young Ali would just humiliate and beat Tyson handily in the ring.

If these two greats fought each other in their prime Ali would win.

Tyson had power but boy Ali had stamina, finesse, a longer reach and knew how to take a punch and not be hurt.

Ali is and always will be the Champ and successfully regained his title three times. Tyson was good but apart from a select few good boxers he never faced the calibre of boxer that Ali faced and defeated.

Muhammad Ali especially vintage 1964-65 Ali was extremely fast and the fastest heavyweight ever. He also had dazzling footwork, a speedy jab and fast combinations. Iron Mike could hit like a mule, had a decent defense especially under D'Amato. Ali would survive hard punches from Mike, pile up points with his jab, use his footwork to stay out of trouble and tie Mike up when he bulled inside frustrating and outpointing him in a unanimous decision win. I rank Ali 3rd greatest of all time.

If they were to fight when each was in his prime Tyson would win of he got a good hit on Ali, but if it turned out to be a technical fight Ali would come out the winner. I think Tyson had a more powerful punch.

Good question....I don't want to upset you but Muhammad Ali would have no doubt beaten Mike Tyson...I admire both of these athletes and their capabilities....One point to remember is that Mike Tyson was actually paid $8.7 million not to fight Lennox Lewis when Mike was at his best...hence the reason Lennox was never bought over to the US to prove his abilities...Lennox would have beaten both Mike and Cassius(Muhammad Ali)Clay..he was bigger stronger and equally as smart as Ali.

Go watch ESPN Classic greatest boxers right now.

Just think what Ali's record would look like if he had not been stripped of his title with out due process for refusing to go Vietnam.

Sounds just like today, the conservative clowns (some on boxing yahoo) think dissent is unpatriotic. This country was founded on freedom of speech and dissent.
You Bush/Rumsfeldt, Pat Robertson/Falwell and Gingrich/O'Reilly loving idiots.

Ali destroys the overrated Tyson in in 5 rds.

ali in his prime i think would have found a way to beat any fighter...sonny liston was a bit like mike tyson and ali handled him without a problem,,,even with diminished skills he even found a way to defeat the mighty and much younger george foreman..i would pit a healthy prime ali versus any boxer and put all my money on him

Ali, Tyson's a powerhouse, but it would be just like the rumble in the jungle against Foreman, let him hit you, wear him out, then take him down.

Ali replaced into an icon... Tyson replaced into in elementary terms a boxer. i understand this could be a boxing question yet... Ali replaced into as quickly as on a airplane waiting for take off whilst the cabin group got here around and a woman attendant advised him to place his seat belt on as a results of fact the airplane replaced into shortly going to take off. Ali regarded up on the female and mentioned "Superman do no longer desire no seat belt". the female regarded down at him and mentioned "Superman do no longer desire no airplane neither". Ali tells this tale himself. Tyson could on no account do this. that's why Ali is a champion.
