That's very possible, & if I were you, I would go on line, & ask a Bird Behaviorist, why this happens, cause I've never heard of that ever.

My mom owns a cockatiel and it hisses at me too, i think it has to do with the fact that they are not handled by humans much when they are younger, therefor are not use to humans. The reason i think this is true? When i was younger my mom had a pair of cockatiels that were raised by ordinary people and not a pet-store.....the two cockatiels never hissed at anyone! its all in how you raise them when they are babies, just like any other animal.

I'm not sure why the bird hiss at you. I don't think birds can smell, but I do think that you may be approaching them too fast. Some birds are territorial.

If this is not true, then you're the anti-christ. LOL. JK.

Birds have a strong sense in smell, so anything not smelling like a bird can make them feel like hissing at you. I thought birds chrip. LOL

I think you give birds anxiety. Birds get anxiety because their owners are pressuring them too much. Like why should they always have to be a pretty bird. Maybe they just want a day where they don't have to focus on their appearance and just accept themselves for who they are.

They are probably scared or mad. My cockatiel hisses at me if he's upset.

Wear freshly laundered clothing around them and probably change your cologne/perfume?
