I don't have a favorite Champagne, but I do have a few favorite Sparkling Wines.

J Schram
Schramsberg Brut Rose

I also had a Magnum of a Roederer Estates that was excellent. The 750ml was mediocre, but the Magnum was phenomenal.

Depending on your price... I am a big fan of Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame (1995 is especially nice), but it is a heavier, yeastier style, with layers and layers of doughy goodness. A notch down in price is Non-Vinrage Billecart Salmon - very well balanced, year in and year out. If you want something inexpensive, try Spanish Cava's - though not technically Champagne, since they don't come from Champagne, France, they are made in the Methode Champenoise in a light, flavorful style to please a crowd.

My favourite is not a Champagne because it's from Canada but it's Peller Estates Dry Cristalle. Instead of topping it up with extra champagne or sparkling wine like most are done with, Peller Estates adds a bit of last vintages ice wine. It doesn't make it sweet but it does make it very interesting.

I'd have to go with cheap Pink Champagne! I could drink like 2 1/2 bottles and be happy and giggly all night long!

I love the demi-sec Veuve Clicquot. Most people who say they don't like champagne just don't like the very dry champagne. The demi-sec is not too sweet - I love it by itself or with dessert!

I like the demi-sec Veuve Clicquot . Sweeter and not so dry like the brust. excellent tast. if you have the cash, go with the la grande dame. its is quite tasty for a dry champagne!

Louis Roederer NV Brut Premier. Absolutely divine! Perfect balance of flavors. Not too dry and not too sweet. And its pretty affordable at about $50/bottle.

My favorite has to be Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. It hasn't got that tartness that I find objectionable, and the texture...if one can call it that...is velvety and fine.

P.S. Nickname is quite right about Moet & Chandon.
