It would seem that just about every action we take throughout the course of the day is a sin. Isn't that kind of repressive?

The question becomes, do you believe sin is important or that making a positive effort counts more toward being closer to your god? Most things really aren't sin until they take you from your faith. Eating is not a sin of gluttony until it is your life's obsession. It is the same for the everything else. Keep God first then it is difficult to sin.

Unbelief in God's word is sin.
Being a Christian you realize that all your sin is forgiven.

Where there is no law sin is not imputed. Rom 5:13 for until the Law sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Jesus is the end of the law to all who believe.Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Believe what?
That He is the end of the law for you.
OLAY!
Now you know why I say Olay!

Jesus lived His entire life without sinning and his was an action packed life! The idea is not that Christians do not sin, everyone does every day. The idea is that we are forgiven our sins and because of this grace we want to live our lives as sin free as we can. We all make mistakes, though, and sin every day. May God bless and keep you.

The Bible says we are sinful creatures because of the fall (Original sin of Adam). There is nothing you can do to stop sinning for the Bible says that even our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. All you have to do is accept Jesus Christ for He took your punishment on the cross. Now the burden you call repression is gone! Cool, huh?

Clear your mind. Do not think any thoughts. Be an empty vessel. See only the light within your own eyes. Breathe deep. Exhale. You may now go forth and be sinful.

Yes, it's repressive. It's controlling. It's authoritarian. But hey, it works. The RCC is rich, rich, rich. And I don't mean spiritually.

It depends on what your concept of sin is. I don't believe in sin like the biblical derivative. I think one can intentionally hurt oneself or others around them and that is sin. Sin is a state that you put yourself in by the acts you decide to do not from a list that is handed to you. To one causing someone tears can be a sin because you damaged part of their psyche enough to bring them to that emotional state. Sin is not as black and white as theology would lead one to believe.

not "everything" we do is a sin, for every sin there is a opposite, just chose the opposite. living a life of HOLINESS before GOD can be hard but well worth it. SIN will take you farther than you want to go and COST you more than you want to pay!!!! give satan a inch he'll take a mile!!!!

sin is an offense by going against the commandments of God. As long as you follow what they are your action is not a sin.

Not everything is a sin. It also depends on what you're defining as a sin. Most religions say that praying is not a sin. I would say that you should read your Bible.

You can do plenty. Do good to people, read the bible, pray, put in a garden, give to the poor, smile, any number of things like that. And no, it is not repressive but a lot of fun actually.
