I believe everyone reaches that point at different stages of their life and that some never do reach that stage at all. We only do so when our reality is ready for it.

My parents are both christians but of different denominations - my mother a Baptist and my father a Methodist. The one thing both taught me from a young age is that I am responsible for the actions I undertake so I need to do so with care not only for myself but also for others. I was raised with an awareness that with life comes great responsibility not only towards oneself but to ones fellow human beings; so given that I reached that point very early in life.
