Its much too early to accurately assess the outcome of the conflict, after all they are still fighting despite a "cease fire". Both sides have grounds to "claim" victory. Hezbollah could "win" simply by not losing. That is by not being annihilated, and emerging from the conflict intact. This they have done. They have lost men, material and ground but an insurgent war as they are fighting isn't necessarily concerned with territory exclusively. Arms and men will be replaced. Hezbollah has other reasons to be satisfied. They fought the Israelis hard, much harder than was probably expected, they garnered international support (some anyway) and most importantly are looked upon as heroes by many Arabs which can only aid them in recruiting new members. Israel on the other hand has also gained what it wanted...to a degree. They have established a "zone of occupation" and driven Hezbollah from several key areas. The difficulty for them is that they now become occupiers in a hostile territory. Israel should be somewhat concerned that their high tech army discovered what many other armies have discovered before them, fighting insurgents is difficult , time consuming and costly and that superior firepower alone is not sufficient to destroy a well entrenched insurgency.

Nobody has won. Israel's goal was to drive Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon. They have not done that. Hezbollah's goal ever since it became a group back in the 80's, has been to keep Israel out of southern Lebanon. Israel froces remain on the ground in Lebanon. Nobody has won, and this war is far from over.

I wouldnt say either of them "won". But if either side could claim a victory right now it would be Israel. They have caused more damage to Hezbollah than Hezbollah has caused to Israel.

Hezbollah won because Israel bowed to international pressure and failed to wipe 'em out. Hezbollah - with the aid of the Iranians - will now regroup, and the next time they fire a missile at Israel it will strike Tel Aviv with a nuclear warhead on board. Mark my words here and now. It's bound to happen!

Militarily, Israel was the clear winner. However, Hezbollah has clearly won moth the media war and the war of public opinion.

Israel never wins, it just gets to survive another day, week, year. Until the next band of anti-Semites get rolling against them again.
Hezbollah, used a lot of munitions, and lost a lot of lives, but Iran paid the bill on the Rockets, and life is cheap in that region.
On the whole Israel may have a slight edge, as everyone did, and still does hate them there, but the Lebanese are asking Hezbollah, "just what did we gain with your adolescent rocket attacks, that is worth the loss of our houses, commerce, and a bunch of civilian lives"? They have a bunch of explaining to do to their various until now benefactors.

Hezbollah and here is why:
1. 30000 solders VS 3000 fighters
2.32 days of fighting on the ground Israel was the under dog.
3. Israel was rated te 4 military power in the world today its 13
4. Israel was forced to negotiate the swap of prisoners.
5. for the 1st time in Israeli wars many Israeli cities were attacked
The only thing Israel was able to do from the sky like Bombing airports, electricity stations, water stations, schools ,road ,media centers, hospitals , apartments , and killing civilians.

Israel is trying to dismantle the terror network arrayed against it and is trying to get its soldiers back. When this is accomplished either through the resolution or not, then Israel will have accomplished its goals. Hezbollah is using terror tactics to blackmail Israel. Israel will have none of it. Hezbollah will lose.

Nobody. The Israelis had a chance to deal a serious blow against Hezbolla, but their politicians were swayed by public opinion and missed the opportunity. It's too late now, Hezbolla has had time to clear out of the area controlled by Israel and can now minimize their losses.
Hezbolla, got a bloody nose out of the deal. Wasted a large number of their henchmen and materials.
Iran and Syria were exposed for their support of terrorism, and will pay for that later.
The U.S. had the opportunity to make some real headway against terrorist, all we had to do was continue to support the Israeli's and let them do the dirty work. But George II went wobbly and caved to the Euro-weenies.
The UK fell into the same trap as George II and caved as well.
The Euro-Weenies were again exposed as an axis of Weasels which will force the U.S. to take military action against Iran because Europe is not going to do anything about it.
The Arab league, mainly a bunch dictators. by supporting terrorism has hastened the day when they will be decapitated by Muslim extremist.

Hezbollah is supposedly a 17 november team, maximum residing in Lebanon, which helps this team. Hezbollah is all for politics, yet also many crimes. the U. S. needs them to disarm, yet they received't because their purpose is to interrupt Israel-made from Jews. they don't love Jews and in the adventure that they disarm they of route can't fulfill their purpose.
