I'm 30 and my clock is ticking. My husband and I don't know if we want children....at least not yet. What age, realistically, is it getting too late to have kids??

they say after 36 you run the risk of having babies with birth defects down syndrome etc. so better start soon if you want kids if you dont thats fine too you guys can enjoy each other for the rest of your lives.

If you haven't decided yet, now is the time. If you do decide to have children, even while you're still 30, you should probably get the tests before you try conceiving. 30 and up is getting there, but I think it would seriously risk the child's health by 38. I hope you make the right decision!

I would say around 40 in my personal opinion. Unfortunately, my dh and I have experienced unexplained infertility for several years now. I always thought it would be easy to get pregnant and I now wish I had started trying earlier. I have been to a fertility specialist and was told that before age 35 your odds are much greater with any assisted reproductive therapy.

Well I am 21 an about to have my first child. I am 34 weeks (8 months)! I dont think there is no right or wrong age, but look at it from a different point... YOU don't want to wait until ur not able to enjoy ur childs childhood. You dont want to be to old to go to their grad. or school events. You don't want to wait until ur to old to get out in the yard and play with them, or be unable to see them live life and have kids. You can wait but let the factor play in on ur age! Dont wait until life is to far gone!

I would say 35 and up....Remember when a woman is 35 her eggs are 35 where as a man who is 35 his sperm is 35 seconds old. When a woman becomes 30 she has less eggs and may not be as fertile as she was when she was say 25. The longer you wait the harder it may be. But don't be discouraged....miracles happen everyday!!

Just depends on how healthy you are. Alot of people are having kids later on in life these days. I would say the oldest you should have them though is 42 or 43, but again it just depends on how healthy you are. You are, however, never too old to adopt :) Good luck and God bless.

My husband was conceived when his mom was 44, and he's fine. I had my first baby when I was 34.

I think about thirty-eight. My mom had me at thirty-three, but I had my first at thirteen and second at sixteen. I'm twenty now and I am expecting twins.
