It depends on what you are interested in doing on Maui while you are there. There are a wide variety of activities and cool things to do in most of the towns. If you plan to stay in your hotel room most of the trip then an ocean front room, with restaurants and pampering facilities available. This can be costly.
I would like to suggest you stay in several hotels. (Come on, you're only packing one suitcase, swimsuit, shorts, tank tops, and slippers is the norm) Stay in Kihei, where snorkeling, surfing, fairly inexpensive shopping, local marketplace, and good local places to eat are all the buzz. Then go to Lahaina, this is a touristy town, relax and enjoy the beach, walk thru all the neat and overpriced shops. Then take a ride to Hana, this is an older town, very country, away from the phones, computers and fax machines, where you'll learn about the hawaiian culture and why the people of hawaii are so well loved and respected.
You would definately have more fun, I think....Either way, Congratulations for a happy marriage and life...Enjoy your stay!

Depends on where you want to stay. As mentioned, the two main areas to stay are South Maui and West Maui.

South Maui -

Four Seasons Wailea
Grand Wailea
Kea Lani

West Maui-
Sheraton Kaanapali
Westin Maui
Ritz Carlton Kapalua

or if you really want a different experience, check out Hotel Hana Maui. Its far away from just about everything though.

Best wishes for a wonderful honeymoon!

The Grand Wailea is possibly your proper wager for the south shore. Up right here on the west section, you have a decision between the Hyatt, Westin, Sheridan, Kaanapali sea coast inn, or the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua. a number of those inns are intense end and so is the Maui Marriot.i admire Kaanapali because of fact front St. in Lahaina is a blast with a ton of stay song, and your are purely 6 miles to Lahaina from Kaanapali.

Sheratan Kaanapali is where we stayed and I loved it because it was right on the beach. They have a restaurant and a grill. The concierge desk has all kinds of activities in the area as well as at the resort. Some rooms have partial or full kitchens so if you feel like staying in :) you don't have to starve.
