The way I see it is that many atheists seem to be so angry with their questions.
1. They are angry at God for his rules ect and don't want him messing in their lives.
2. They are so brainwashed about evolution and being primates, that God doesn't even come into their concept of living.
So which is it or is there another theory that I have missed

Nobody is angry. The people that p*ss me off are the religious Christians who claim to be religious but are far from being religious. They're hypocrites. Phonies!

It's better to be an outspoken Athiest than a hypocrite.

1. Speaking only for myself, I am not angry at "god". I don't believe that one exists.
2. When one can ask a question, and recieve not only an answer, but evidence to support that answer, it's not called "being brainwashed"...its called being logical. Brainwashing is another word for indoctrination...causing someone to believe something by the constant repetition of something. Seeing as no claim of the bible can be proven, with evidence, I would be forced to conclude, logically, that a person of faith is actually the brainwashed party.

All religions established what are/were considered to be the rules of civilized society. People as a whole were uneducated and superstitious. It was much easier to keep the common man in line by claiming that the law was handed down by a higher power, or a "god". As education, and technology advance, the logic of a god figure erodes at a proportionate rate. People are still superstitious though, and will claim anything that reduces their beliefs to be from an evil adversary, other than what it truly is...evidence.

That is very false indeed! Atheists are not angry with god at all, nor are they brain washed with evolution, u mock evolution because u do not want god to be disproved, but if u took god out of the picture u would see how extremely logical evolution is. Why do u think so many Christians believe in intelligent design? It is because evolution is so obvious that they had to make a compromise or give up god altogether, it is a great half truth for them, they get to keep god and they don't look stupid for denying evolution.

1) Not angry at god. It's impossible to resent something that you don't believe in in the first place. I could also be pissed off at Santa Claus for not bringing me a pony; that would make just as much sense.

2) Even if evolution is completely wrong, that doesn't mean that religious beliefs would have to be right -- they could both be wrong. As it happens, I think that evolution is the best explanation that fits all the facts. And it's true that god doesn't enter into that -- there's no need for any god.

I just don't believe in god.

Now, how could somebody be angry with something that does not exist? That's a pretty stupid thing to say... even for a Christian. No... what gets free-thinkers/rationalists (atheists/agnostics) honked off is the persistant regurgitation of dogmatic slogans, delusional fairy tales and willful ignorance... asserted to be come kind of cosmic 'truth'... that are symptoms of the mental defect that we call 'Christianity'.

Christianity is essentially a criminal business enterprise... in fact, it is the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is the illusion of 'salvation'... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead. Meanwhile the victims (having been deceived into believing that it is their God-given duty) are out there busily recruiting MORE victims. What a racket! FORTUNATELY, it only works on those who are gullible enough, and sufficiently lacking in critical thinking skills, to fall for it. UNfortunately, THAT accounts for about 75% of the population of the USA. (There are a lot more people who DON'T know how to think properly than there are people who DO know how to think properly.) That is why there are a lot more religious people in the USA than there are 'Free-thinkers'... including Atheists. Also, Christians are generally too dense to realize that proselytizing (spreading the 'good news') is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they obliviously try to just pester and annoy people to death, through persistent obnoxiousness. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." I would not be surprised to learn that thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept.

Interestingly, statistics on supernatural beliefs count the USA on a par with backward, developing Third World nations, rather than among modern, advanced industrial powers.

Of course I am not angry with God. It is hard to be angry with someone I don't believe exists. I just can't believe that there is someone who controls our lives like that. I happen to believe in the scientific fact that has been proven over and over again. I do NOT call it being brainwashed. Neither of your points are valid in any way. I believed in God when I was younger, but then as I grew up I formed my own opinions. It is ignorant of those such as yourself to assume that.

Assuming you have one, were or have you ever been angry at your little sister or brother's imaginary invisible friend?

This is how it is for us. You can't be mad at something you don't believe to exist, it is the same concept as above and if yes it would be a sign of needing psychotherapy.

Your thinking we are mad at 'your' god and stuff is putting your own thoughts into our heads, because believers can not grasp that it's possible for some people to not believe in anything. That much I have learned over the years.

The only reason some people may seem irritated is partly in how you are perceiving it, you may be reading it as madder then it was meant, and partly because non believers do get irritated at some people on here.

Being an atheist means you dont believe in god, so I dont think they would be angry at someone they dont believe in.

I think maybe some are angry at religious people more than the religion for a myraid of reasons.

I think simply they dont believe.

The problem with believers and non believers is they try so hard to convert others to their own line of thinking. If everyone just accepted each others faiths (or lack therof) perhaps we wouldnt have so much conflict.

I don't believe. I have studied the religious texts (from many different faiths), talked with people from all different belief systems and even college professors (both secular and religious universities). Using the same evidence you use to believe I use to disbelieve.

Do I have an educational background in other things as well? Yes, I have backgrounds in chemistry, non-profit business, engineering, pathobiology and machine tools technology. I also for my own pleasure like reading about such subjects as astronomy, astrophysics, sociology, psychology, history, anthropology and mythology. I am certainly not brainwashed.

None of your theories. I don't see enough evidence for me to believe that a god exists. Should such evidence be presented to me, then I would believe that such a god would exist. I have no reason to be angry at any gods if they exist and take part in my life, because I have a great life. However, I'm not going to believe that a god exists based on faith alone. My anger comes from religious people trying to dictate my life based on their religion.
