I've been sleeping a ridiculous amount lately. I wake up at 6am, work until 5, and then take a nap when I get home. I wake up from the nap usually around 7:30, and then I am tired again at 9 and usually end up going to bed at 9:30. I have never had such awful sleep patterns before, there is no change in my diet, and I have not changed where I sleep.

Aside from drinking coffee, which I'm trying to avoid because it makes me very anxious, can you give any suggestions that will help me stay awake and alert?

If it helps, my job isn't very stressful, and I find myself droopy-eyed when the workload is minimal.

try to do something stimulating on your down time at work, keep your mind active! If you need something to wake you up in the morning, try a good breakfast and maybe a energy drink if necessary. Make sure that you don't drink any caffeine at least a few hours before you need to go to sleep. Also make sure that you keep a regular sleep pattern. Make sure that you sleep at the same times everyday. I was in your situation too and thees things helped me tremendously!!!!!

I would definitely increase your water intake. A sign of dehydration is fatigue. If you aren't getting enough water in your diet, then you will feel tired, forgetful and worn out.

After making sure you are getting at least 8 - 10 8oz glasses of water per day, I would also up your green leafy food intake...spinach, things like that. You might also need to check into getting a multi vitamin....but I'd talk to my doctor, first.

Work may not be stressful, but what about home?

If this persists for another week or so, I would definitely consult with a doctor. Fatigue can be a symptom of many different things.

You probably feel tired but you really aren't that tired. You know what I mean? Maybe when you get home from work you should go to the gym in the time you usually take a nap. I find that excercising helps me focus and stay alert for hours after. Hope that helped :)

It might be a good idea to see a doctor. It could just be that you are not getting enough exercise, or vitamins or something, but there is a possibility that it could be depression or even a problem like chronic fatigue syndrome. Some other conditions masquerade as sleeping too, like heart problems. It is probably not anything to worry about, but the best way to find an answer is to see a doctor.

go to a health food store and get some vitamins. i love vitamins. they will help balance your body chemistry and allow you to relaxwhen you need to and have energy when you need to. did i mention i love vitamins? i recomend multi-vitamins, but im not a doctor so you should ask your doctor befor trying anything. DONT EVER GET VITAMINS FROM WALMART OR SUPER MARKETS. they say theyre the same but theyre not. youll notice if you try different brands. /<:}

You have low energy levels. If you are not lethargic or you do not have any other medical conditions or illness, a good multivitamin should re-energise you. Any vitaminised drink containing Taurin such as 'Red Bull' should also revitalise you.

Try it and feed back please.
