Letting someone know that you are serious might scare them away...if you don't let them know you are serious might be the wrong thing too.
Ask her questions- like "do you eventually want to settle down with one guy and do the family thing?" If she say yes then you tell her that is what you want too and that you don't know who that will be, but you are open to finding that right person soon."
If she looks at you and runs.....then she is far from wanting to settle down. If she throws herself at you and says.......choose me choose me.....well then she is despirate and you might think about running. LOL
When it comes to life, we can't always know the right thing to say and when to say it. So, let your heat be your guide and it will know what to say and how and when to say it.

So you want to show some girl that you're interested in her romantically rather than just in a platonic way. Hmm, a sure sign that a guy has feelings for you involves light touching here and there. If you guys are talking, put your hand on her arm or little things like that. Please don't grope her. Also, say or do romantic things that friends normally don't do. Like call her randomly and ask how her day is going. Perhaps send her a sweet email. Little things go a long way. I hope this helps!
