My father has had 3 strokes. It is hard for him to balance himself to get in and out of the tub. I would like to have his bathroom remodeled for him. I want to have the tub taken out and replace with a walk in shower. The toilet doesn't work like it should, but it works. I would like to get that replaced also. They both need rails around them so he can get in and out the shower and on and off the toilet with ease. Can anyone help me in finding assistance with these needs?

Any general contractor will help with this. Low step tubs and hand rails are common nowadays. There a many in metro Detroit if you have trouble finding some in your area.

I would check with my local building dept. to make the bathroom
handicap accessible for now and the future. They should have
the specs there. You can also go on line for ADA information and
specs.

Check with your local churches. Many church groups
have members that will gladly help out.
