together? Assuming you want a possible relationship and are not just sleeping around. (Not a judgement about anyone).

OK, before anyone gets the wrong idea, this isn't me. I am raising my cousin's daughter and she is having some real issues with dating and friends advice. Her friends are telling her she has to sleep with these guys right away if she wants them to keep seeing her. I want to know what is normal now- I'm way too old to "understand" how things are today. And, no, obviously waiting too long is out of the question. The first date is ridiculous. That's just sleeping around. What is normal today for someone who possibly wants, not marriage, but at least a relationship for longer thatn 1 night.

There is no set period. Waiting for marriage is usually the best thing. But, in any case, when the couple is ready and feel that they love each other so much that they want to give each other their all, that's when they can move into the physical intimacy phase.

i think it depends on the connection but in my opinion i would say maybe 2 to weeks that will give you time to get to know the person and feel comfortable with them there are so many trust issues when it comes to sex so i wouldnt jump right into it on the second date or anything like that so around 2 to 3 weeks

With my first partner, we'd been together about a year. With my last boyfriend, we slept together on the second date. I married that one!

Whenever you both feel comfortable. This can be after date #2 or date #72. Just be able to talk about it. And use protection when you do!

Wait until you are sure you and the person are on the same page about what you want...but don't feel shitty if you have sex after a few days...weeks...months...and it doesn't work out. That happens!

If you are both serious then you can do it on the first date if you want. You might want to wear a jimmy hat though.

I suppose you don't want to hear "wait 'til marriage."

Short of that, 15 dates, more than a month.
Good luck.
