I do know what it is since I was born Catholic...But I don't believe in it. I recall a rabbi who once said that all souls are pure. I trully believe we are not born with this "sin"...rather, we are born blessed by G-d

The original sin was turning our back on the way God wanted life to be in favor of the way we thought it should be. Haven't we done a great job with the world so far? It seems to get worse every day.

The original sin was because Adam and Eve chose not to obey God.He told them they could partake of anything in the garden except the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
They were decieved by satan in the form of a serpant and partook of it anyway. So they were ashamed and hid themselves and clothed themselves.Just as the first Adam brought about death. The second Adam ,Jesus had to come to bring us life and life more abundantly.Blessings VIJ

Original sin is the fact that Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of Knowlege.

That is if you believe that old story.

Yes, I do know what the concept of original sin was . . . I just don't believe any of us "born" in sign, but rather we are responsible for our own actions.

I know what it is, I just think it's crap. I have a 4 1/2 year old and a 6 month old. So if they die they go straight to hell? No. You should read Conversations with GOD, or Communion with God, or the book, Home with God. You need to be open minded. Love is the greatest of all things and God equals love so am I to believe that the God that equals love is going to punish his innocent children by sending any of them to an "eternal fiery place". No.

If we are condemed by original sin, why are we not blessed with the knowledge of good and evil? Are you responible for the sins of your parents?
