I noticed that whenever the bible stance on homosexuality is mentioned gays and lesbians are always quick to accuse someone of hating and discriminating against them. That is like saying I hate all people who drink alcohol and engage in pre-marital sex because it goes against my beliefs. Sounds like a pretty stupid accusation doesn't it? Of course it does.

Because it is a cop out. They know what they are doing is wrong and don't want to face up to the facts. So as a result they attack anyone who opposes their way of living. It makes them feel vindicated when they accuse us of discriminating and having hate towards them personally, rather than their sinful acts. Homosexuality is based purely on lust. That is why there are not too many committed gay and lesbian relationships because they are always desiring other encounters. You raise a good point. Peace and God bless.

Hate might be a strong word but if you let this idea that has been thurst onto you that it is bad colour how you treat them then yes you discriminate. If you mention that you believe it is a sin, that they should reform or "find Jesus" then i think their finger pointing is rather justified. Not saying you necessarily do but there are many that use the Bible as reason to do just that.

Much of the Bible is outdated in it's laws and statements, written by men in another time for a reason, a reason definately placed on earth and not in the skies. Many of the minor laws and such were made up by men, including this idea of homosexuality as a sin. Do you think someone actually asked God "what about these men that sleep with men?" and a booming voice said "put them to death"? and while recording this also asked him the price of a slave girl or the amount of stones for a man working on the sabbath?

Don't discriminate because of scripture, look around at the modern world, there are plenty of genuine bad people without spilling hate onto those that don't deserve it.

First of all your analogy made no sense. Second of all people use the bible as a weapon to discriminate against homosexuals because they are too wimpy to just admit that homosexuality makes them uncomoftable. Put down your bible and deal with your feelings.

Maybe it's because some that are Bible-believers are sanctimonious. I have to agree with others about what the Bible says. But I think that if you believe in the Bible, you shouldn't spew hate at others. That is definitely not what Jesus taught us. I think that we all tend to forget about John 8:7 (...He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone...) We have all sinned and have fell short of God's glory. So, yes, the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong. But so are so many things that many of us do including sex without the benefit of marriage, taking the Lord's name in vain, etc.

That's not the case. Not always. It depends on the people. Some are kind and forgiving and some think that whole world hates them.
Just like strait people. Some of my friends are gay. They are very open to questions and give good answers.

Well if Christians actually followed their faith they would love thy neighbor instead of persecuting these people and what about thou shalt not judge else ye be judged.

So go ahead and follow your faith, no one is saying you can't.
But at the same time leave people to do as they wish with their own lives instead of persecuting them.

This is the land of freedom not the Theocratic States of America.

They're just really defensive. I for one have no problem with homosexuals and lesbians. On occasion I have called people that have angered me homo or dike, but not because of their sexual preferences, just because they suck. It's just like a swear of a cuss to call them that. I mean no offense to homosexuals by it. I mean no offense to GOD when I say Goddamnit (and he knows that, so I feel okay!). It's just a style of swearing that was there before me that I picked up. No big deal, right?

Anyone that knows me knows I have no problems with homosexuals or lesbians. I DO criticize the practice, not because of the Bible, but because, quite frankly, it's a dangerous lifestyle where people open themselves up to deadly diseases, heartless predators, and drunken pilots that hope to screw their poor victim's minds up as badly as they screwed up their own. The only homosexuals I have a problem with are the ones that come on to me no matter how many times I say it "Ain't my style." Those guys are real jerks.

You have to be careful these days.

The Bible calls for homosexuals to be put to death.

How much of a clue do you need ;-)

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lieth with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death...

You have a good point...

Seeing how living the homosexual lifestyle is a choice...I'm thinking they can stop sinning if they want too.

IT'S A CHOICE!!!

Most people that sin want to "justify" what they are doing. You can't justify sin. Sin is sin, it's as simple as that.

Just because you are attracted to someone that is the same sex, doesn't mean you have to act on it. It's called self-control.

I don't hate anyone. I don't condone their behavior; however, I won't judge the for it either.

Grace to all!
