I want to check out China Camp State Park in San Rafael. Has anyone been there lately and can give a informative report on conditions?

Well, it is summer, and i am supposing you are talking about the park up China Grade or in the skyline region and the trails there are in good condition. You might also ant to check out Saratoga gap hich connects with other trails all the way to los altos. St. Joseph's hill in los gatos is also good since it climbs up into the Mt Ummunhum area and then crosses Hicks Rd. to almaden quicksilver park. You might also want to buy a trail map of that region.

More great single-tracking parks down the Peninsula are:
Wilder Ranch - On HWY one
Big Basin - there is a great fire road that goes from HWY one up to the redwood forests.
