The conflict that started on 12 July began because Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Once they began air strikes on selected targets to prevent any movement of the kidnapped soldiers, Hezbollah began firing missiles into Israel at the same rate Israel was dropping bombs. Now the goal of Israel completely changed from recovering the two soldiers, to driving Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon.
PS. The group Hezbollah was created back in the 80's to drive Israeli forces out of southern Lebanon.

Just FYI, Israel is not at war with Lenbanon. They are at war with Hezbollah. Hezbollah kidnapped 2 Israel soldiers which is what started everything from what I have seen/heard.

Israel is occupying part of Lebanon and kidnapped Lebanese ppl and refused to free the ppl for years?
If you are a Lebanese what will you do to free your people and to end the Israeli occupation ?

This whole thing was started by Iran (who control hizbollah) to take scrutiny off their nuclear program. If you remember, the deadline given them to respond concerning their nuclear activities by the worthless UN was the same date this little war was started...Then, all of a sudden, Iran is no longer front page news and they continue their nuclear ambitions...

Lebanon supposly killed Isreals Soldiers and I think there are 2 alive still... So there trying to get them back.

Its a territory war. Isreal started setting up "illegal" communities in Palestine, and Lebenon. These people want their land back, but Isreal is trying to take control of them wrongfully. If you want to know more in depth, my yahoo im is pyliden Ill talk all day on this subject.
