How Long To Broil Salmon

Broil it 8-10 mins per inch.
Make sure your fillet still has the skin on it as just under the skin are the good oils that you want.
Steaks usually have the skin on it.
Salt and pepper the salmon.
Put salmon in Ziploc baggie with Italian dressing.

Broil 5 minutes on second highest rack position with the skin side up.
Flip salmon over and cook additional 3-5 minutes until just browned. I also like to put sliced onions on top with a pat of butter. Better to slightly undercook as fish continues to cook after pulling from oven.

Garnish with fresh dill and lemon wedges.

Broil fish 2-3 inches from heating element for 5 minutes. Turn over and broil on other side. Fish should flake when cooked. Spoon extra marinade over fish. Any extra marinade can be heated in a small saucepan and poured over the fish just before serving.

Depends on the thickness. 4 - 8 minutes seems to be right for me. You want to take it out from under the broiler while it is still a tiny bit 'raw' looking..in the center; it will continue to cook because of the heat for a couple of minutes after removing it. After broiling it, have you ever tried sprinkling it with lemon juice and topping it with mayo then sticking it back under the broiler until it gets brown? Then I sprinkle it with sliced green onions and serve. I get rave reviews when I serve salmon like this!
