Does it work well? is it uncomfortable? any downsides? is it a better alternative to braces if your teeth just have small gaps that need fixing?

well...you can't eat or drink anything with it on except water or other clear liquids. So anytime you snack on something you must take it off, brush your teeth when you're done and then put it back in.

Kevin H is wrong on both counts:
Invisalign may cost LESS than traditional metal braces
Results may be as good or better in less time
Consult both an orthodontist and a Certified Invisalign General Dentist for prices before you decide.
In my area, Invisalign is MUCH less than braces.

Invisalign is more expensive then regular braces. And the end result will not be as good as with the old standard. Discuss the differences with your orthodontist.
