Hey if they're too lazy to get a condom, do you think they'll get a license. That actually requires you to fill out a form!

While there are a LOT of people that don't need to breed, there wouldn't be any point to having a license before having children, people would do it anyway. When you put a law on something, that just makes people want to do it even more. Can't punish the responsible parents because of the irresponsible.

Sometimes you aren't ready to be a parent untill after you have the child. When I got pregnant I was abusing perscription drugs. and I didn't care about anyone but myself. I stopped the pills when I found out I was pregnant and have never got back on them.My daughter is the MOST important thing in my life. My entire life has changed for the better because of her. If there would have been a law like you suggest then I never would of gotten the chance to experience the joy of motherhood.

I work with infants and all my co-workers and I agree you should have to pass some kind of test, and prove you can afford a baby. If this could happen then we'd have less babies born addicted to drugs, and we'd save a bundle of money on all the state handouts some families are getting. Almost all of my babies get SSI which comes to about $700 a month, plus they get free daycare and welfare too. Imagine what a better class of people we'd end up having too. Unfortunately people can have babies whenever they want and no one can control that, but we can dream.

Quite frankly, I think alot of parent should have to obtain a license. Both of my children are adopted and my oldest was malnutritioned when he was taken from his biological mother for the 5th and final time. To be more frank, I think that classes, tests, and a license should be obtained prior to pregnancy.

very much so, if not a liscense a mental health evaluation when they do find out they are pregnant. A 19 year old girl was just found guilty of killing her 3 month of child. Mental health evaluations were done after the crime to reveal that she had the mental cababilty of a 10-12year old.

How could you even possibly enforce that? Agreed some people shouldn't be parents but that is why we have systems in place like CPS.
